Abstract Reactions of cis‐ and trans‐2‐butene adsorbed on deuterated ZSM‐5 and mordenite were studied by IR spectroscopy below 300 K. 2‐butene molecules hydrogen‐bonding to Brønsted acid sites (OD) reacted when the temperature was increased above 250 and 230 K on D‐ZSM‐5 and... mehr

Abstract Decarbonylation of [Pt3(CO)6]5 on SiO2 at 373 K produced [Pt3(t-CO)3]5 species, where all the terminal CO remained. Complete decarbonylation at 423 K was not observed, which led to aggregation at 473 K. The interaction of some Pt with SiO2 inhibited complete recarbonylation to [Pt3(CO)6]5. mehr

Abstract Water adsorption on H-ZSM-5 (with/without Lewis acid sites; LAS) at room temperature was studied by means of FT-IR spectroscopy. It has been clearly observed that water adsorbs preferentially on LAS. This result indicates that the IR bands at ca. 3550, 2900, 2400, 1600, and 1350 cm−1,... mehr

Abstract H/D isotope exchange between n-alkanes and the acidic OD groups in ferrierite was observed by infrared spectroscopy. The real activation energies were estimated by adding the heats of adsorption to the apparent activation energies, resulting in almost the same value for all n-alkanes.... mehr

The production of diesel from vegetable oil calls for an efficient solid catalyst to make the process fully ecologically friendly. Here we describe the preparation of such a catalyst from common, inexpensive sugars. This high-performance catalyst, which consists of stable sulphonated amorphous... mehr

Abstract Photodissociation of Mo(CO)6 in a NaY zeolite was studied under vacuum and CO atmosphere by FTIR. The stepwise CO-dissociation under vacuum proceeded to form Mo(CO)3 via Mo(CO)5 and Mo(CO)4. The Mo(CO)6 was regenerated by introduction of CO to Mo(CO)3. Irradiation under gaseous CO... mehr
