Abstract 2,2-Diphenyl-1,3-dioxolane-4-methanol was resolved via Rhizopus sp. lipase-catalyzed enantioselective transesterification with vinyl butanoate in isopropyl ether (E=23). A gram-scale resolution resulted in the production of the (R)-alcohol with 95% e.e. in 33% yield based on racemate. mehr
